Valenciso Reserva is a red wine of great finesse and depth, made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes from old vineyards located in the Rioja Alta region.
Created by the Valenciso Winery, this wine reflects the perfect balance between fruit, ageing and freshness, with a modern style that is deeply rooted in Rioja tradition.
Contrary to the norm, Valenciso opts for fermentation in cement tanks, a noble material that preserves the purity of the fruit and the liveliness of the wine before it is aged in wood. The ageing process takes place for approximately 18 months in fine-grained, lightly toasted French oak barrels, avoiding excessive vanilla to allow the terroir to speak for itself. The result is a deep, bright cherry-red red wine.
Appearance: Bright cherry colour with a garnet rim, clean and medium-high intensity.
Nose: Elegant and complex aromas of ripe red fruit, dried flowers, fine spices, cocoa and subtle notes of cedar and tobacco, with a distinctive mineral background.
Palate: Silky texture, fine and perfectly integrated tannins. Balanced, fresh and with great persistence. Long finish with hints of forest fruits, liquorice and a very pleasant balsamic touch.
Fermentation in concrete for maximum fruit purity; Ageing exclusively in French oak (not American); Sustainable vineyards in Ollauri (Rioja Alta); Consistent ratings above 93 points (Tim Atkin, Parker).
Serve between 16–18°C in a large Bordeaux-style glass. Decanting 20 minutes before serving is recommended to enhance its aromatic expression.
