Yamazaki 18 years Mizunara 100th Anniversary Edition is the latest release from the prestigious Japanese distillery Suntory. This limited edition commemorates the centenary of the Suntory House and is characterized by the careful selection of malt whiskies, all aged for at least 18 years in Mizunara barrels. Mizunara oak is known as the 'enhancer' of Yamazaki, adding a singular and elegant character, creating a unique sensory experience. The distillery, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, has been a pioneer in the art of Japanese whisky. During the production process, master blenders have experimented with the complexity of Mizunara, achieving a perfect balance of nuances and exceptional smoothness. The tasting note reveals a reddish-amber color and high aromas of dark cherry and ripe peach, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, a subtle spice is accompanied by notes of Japanese incense, culminating in a refined finish.
