Yamazaki 18 years Mizunara 100th Anniversary Edition is the latest release from the famous Japanese distillery Suntory.

This Yamazaki Mizunara Single Malt is composed of carefully selected malt whiskies, all aged for at least 18 years exclusively in Mizunara casks.
Designed in commemoration of the centenary of the House of Suntory, the resulting blend exhibits the unique and distinctive influence of Mizunara oak, regarded as Yamazaki's signature "enhancer", bringing unrivalled Japanese character and elegance.
In honour of its namesake, this whisky is produced at the first and oldest malt distillery in Japan, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii. To celebrate the centenary of the pioneering House of Japanese whisky, we remember this whisky created to satisfy the delicate palate of the Japanese people.
Yamazaki 18 YO Mizunara is truly a gift from the skilled craftsmen of Suntory. The renowned Japanese oak wood, Mizunara, has long been considered a challenging material to work with. In the 1940s, the Suntory House blending team began experiments with Mizunara wood, under the supervision of first generation master blender Shinjiro Torii and second generation master blender Keizo Saji. The first tasting revealed a liquid from the Mizunara barrel with a dominant flavour and aroma.
Colour: Reddish amber
Nose: Rich and elegant top notes of dark cherry and ripe peach, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg.
Palate: Organette subtly spicy with low notes of Japanese incense.
Finish: Organette subtly spicy with low notes of Japanese incense.
