Zárate Albariño Balado is a white wine from the Rías Baixas D.O., made exclusively from Albariño grapes sourced from a single vineyard.
The harvest is carried out manually, with careful selection of the clusters in the vineyard to ensure the highest quality. After gentle destemming, the grapes undergo a long and delicate pressing with a low juice yield. Following a light settling, fermentation occurs spontaneously in stainless steel tanks, and the wine remains on its coarse lees for three months. It is then racked and kept on fine lees for six months at low temperature, without bâtonnage or malolactic fermentation, preserving the varietal purity and natural freshness of Albariño.
Bright straw-yellow color with greenish reflections.
On the nose, it displays remarkable aromatic complexity with notes of ripe white fruit, citrus, fresh flowers, and subtle mineral undertones.
On the palate, it is broad, unctuous, and well-structured thanks to the work on the coarse lees, while aging on fine lees adds elegance, depth, and greater aromatic intensity. The finish is long, saline, and persistent, perfectly reflecting the Atlantic character of the Balado vineyard.
