Presented in a wooden box.
Chimay Blue was born in 1948 as a Christmas beer under the name Speciale Noël, and since 1954 it has been brewed all year round. It was a beer for celebrations, some bottles were kept as souvenirs.
Its second fermentation in the bottle allows for long conservation and evolution over time, similar to reserve wines or Ports, which is why it leaves the monastery with the production year on its front label. It is recommended to store it with the same care as a bottle of good wine.
For this reason, since 1982 it has been bottled in a 75 cl format, with a cork closure, under the name Chimay Grande Réserve.

Trappist beer with origin denomination, 9% alcohol, high fermentation and with second fermentation in the bottle.
Dark in color, it opens with aromas of toasted malt and spices, presenting a broad and persistent flavor, quite sweet.
The Chimay Blue pairs well with beef (T-bone steak, stew), large game meat (wild boar, deer), foie gras, and, logically, aged Chimay cheese.
