Between the two world wars, a 5% alcohol beer was sometimes brewed in Rochefort, called "The Patients' Beer". After the Second World War, it was brewed regularly until 1953 when the recipe was improved and then renamed Rochefort 6. Trappistes Rochefort beers are identified according to the old nomenclature which refers to the original density of the wort of each beer 6, 8 and 10. This would be something over 1060, 1080 and 1100.

Reddish color and amber tones, smooth body, earthy and herbal flavors. Strong malty aroma, slightly bitter. Delicately subtle finish with the presence of spices and caramel. Its fine taste makes it a delight for the palate
In its preparation two different hops are used, from Germany and Slovenia, which gives it that special flavor
