This is a wine with a moderate alcohol level (13%), not excessively fruity but not excessively dry either. It offers freshness, liveliness, and ease of consumption. The blend includes varieties such as touriga franca, touriga nacional, tinta amarela, tinta roriz, and tinto cão, from vineyards between 20 and 50 years old. Only 20% of the wine completed malolactic fermentation in used barrels; the rest spent its time in stainless steel tanks.
When poured into the glass, its freshness and a dark cherry color with reddish reflections are appreciated. On the nose, aromas of red fruits and spices are perceived. In the mouth, it is broad, balanced, and with character. Notes of ripe black fruits, nutmeg, and violets are distinguished, with subtle hints of leather and Mediterranean herbs. It has a pleasant sweetness and agility that combine harmoniously, with elegant bitter nuances from aging in wood.
