Hito Tinto is a wine from the Ribera del Duero designation of origin, produced by Bodegas Cepa 21, a family project aiming to reinterpret this iconic wine region in a contemporary way. This wine originates from the youngest vineyards of the winery, located at high altitude in Castrillo de Duero, where the calcareous-clay and stony soil favor the optimal ripening of the Tempranillo grape, locally known as Tinto Fino. The harvest is done manually, ensuring careful selection of the grapes. After harvesting, the vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, where gentle macerations are performed to preserve freshness and fruity aromas. Subsequently, the wine is aged for about 8 months in French oak barrels, aiming for an adequate structure and complexity that does not interrupt its varietal character. The result is a modern Ribera that highlights the primary expression of the grape and can be enjoyed from its youth.
