Laya is a red wine that reflects the character and tradition of the D.O. Almansa, carefully crafted by Bodegas Atalaya. This wine is produced in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, using grapes from the Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell varieties, cultivated in vineyards situated at altitudes ranging from 700 to 1000 meters above sea level. These conditions, along with calcareous soils and an extreme continental climate, favor a slow and balanced maturation of the grapes. The harvest, carried out by hand, selects the best bunches to ensure the highest quality of the wine. In the cellar, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, preserving the aromas and flavors of the varieties. Afterwards, the wine undergoes aging for about four months in French oak barrels, adding complexity and roundness, integrating the tannins and improving its structure. It showcases an intense red color with violet hues, and a nose that presents a range of complex aromas, including ripe red and black fruits, floral notes, and subtle spicy and balsamic touches. On the palate, Laya is balanced, with good acidity, soft tannins, and a persistent finish that leaves a pleasant sensation.
