Appellation: Tokaj Hegyalia (Hungary) · Furmint, Zéta, Sárgamuskotály
The Oremus Tokaji Aszú 3 Puttonyos 2018, produced by Tokaj Oremus (owned by Vega Sicilia), is an emblematic sweet wine from Hungary, the result of noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) that gives the grapes their unique richness and complexity. It is only produced in exceptional vintages, when the climate favors the development of botrytis.
The harvest is done manually and takes place in several passes between late September and early November. After a two-day maceration, the must ferments slowly in new Hungarian oak barrels for up to two months. It is aged for 2 to 3 years in barrels and an additional year in bottle before being released to the market.
Varieties: Furmint, Zéta, Sárgamuskotály
Alcohol Content: 11% vol.
Aging: 2-3 years in barrel + 1 year in bottle
Format: 50 cl
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Clean and bright golden color.
Nose: Intense aromas of honey, stone fruits (peach, apricot), quince, and citrus hints of lime.
Palate: Sweet, elegant, and fresh, with vibrant acidity that balances the sweetness. Silky, long, and persistent finish.
Pairing
Ideal as a dessert wine or to accompany foie gras, blue cheeses, or enjoy on its own. Serve at 9 ºC.
Aging Potential: Can be enjoyed now or kept for up to 15 years under optimal conditions.
