Muga Eneas is a true reflection of the viticulture of Rioja Alta. It is made with a majority blend of Tempranillo, accompanied by Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano. Its production process is unique: it ferments in oak vats and undergoes a maturation of 24 months in barrels made in the winery's own cooperage, using oak from various origins.
On the nose, it is elegant and complex, with ripe red fruit standing out against a backdrop of sweet spices (vanilla, clove) and very fine toasted notes. Upon tasting it, its balance is surprising; it has a fresh acidity that makes it very long on the palate and silky, well-integrated tannins. It is a balanced wine, full-bodied yet very fluid, representing the classic-modern style of Muga.
