The Nikka Coffey Malt is an exceptional Japanese whisky whose originality lies in its distillation method. Although it is made with 100% malted barley, it is distilled in the historic Coffey Still stills, typically used for grain whiskies. Tasting notes

• Appearance: Bright amber color with golden reflections.

• Nose: Intense and elegant aromas highlighting notes of vanilla, sweet corn, and a delicate herbal touch of chamomile. Citrus nuances like clementine and orange also appear, accompanied by coffee, praline, and vanilla ice cream.

• Palate: Silky and complex entry, with sweet and fruity flavors of melon, grapefruit, and prunes, balanced with notes of crunchy biscuit, thick syrup, and a fresh vanilla background.

• Finish: Long, vibrant, and refined, with memories of sweet corn, licorice, and ripe fruit that linger elegantly.

Production

The malted barley is distilled in a Coffey Still, a continuous still of Scottish origin that gives the whisky a creamy texture and a distinct aromatic profile. This method, uncommon in malt whiskies, is the key to the uniqueness of Coffey Malt.
