Presentation and composition:

100 tablets of 500mg, 35mg zinc gluconate (5mg of Zinc - 50% RDA). Excipients: dicalcium phosphate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose.

Properties:

Zinc is an essential micronutrient needed for the formation of enzymes (phosphatases, dipeptidases, dehydrogenases, and carboxypeptidases), red blood cells, proteins; it also aids in wound healing, development of sexual organs, and brain metabolism.

The recommended daily dose for a healthy adult is 15mg, for pregnant and lactating women, this dose increases to 20-25mg. Higher doses are well tolerated, but deficiencies have very harmful effects.

A zinc deficiency can cause skin, nail, and hair lesions (as it is necessary for keratin formation), abnormalities in reproductive organs, gastrointestinal disorders, anemia, etc. Deficiency can be due to unbalanced diets, intake of substances that interfere with its absorption such as phytates, fiber, calcium, iron, copper, milk, and tannins.
