Alenza is a wine whose name comes from the contraction of the names Alejandro and Esperanza. It is made in the traditional way, i.e. fermenting the must with the stems, without prior destemming. It is a Gran Reserva that is only created in extraordinary vintages and is obtained from a specific vineyard: Maricalva. It is one of the Condado de Haza wines best valued by the critics (93 Tanzer points in its 2003 vintage and 93 Parker points in its 2001 vintage).
