The Algueira Barrica Carravel 2019 is an exceptional wine from Adega Algueira that reflects the highest expression of Mencía in the Ribeira Sacra. The grapes come from the best plots in Doade, in the Amandi subzone, where heroic viticulture on slate terraces gives the wine a unique, mineral identity. This wine is produced only in years of special quality. Each plot ferments separately and undergoes a long aging in French oak barrels, adding complexity and preserving the character of the terroir. The 2019 vintage offers aromas of blackberries, currants, and cherries, with notes of dried flowers, licorice, and spices. On the palate, it is fresh, with fine tannins and a persistent finish, recommended to accompany roast lamb, red meats, and aged cheeses.
