Astobiza Vendimia Tardía 2019 is a singular sweet wine produced by Bodegas Astobizaat D.O. Arabako Txakolina (Álava). It is produced from 100% Izkiriota (Gros Manseng) grapes from a small selected plot, where the grapes remain longer in the vineyard until they reach advanced ripening and a higher concentration of sugars. The grapes are harvested by hand with a careful selection of golden clusters, which allows us to obtain a wine of very limited production and marked Atlantic character.
In the glass it shows a bright golden color. Intense citrus aromas and honeyed notes on the nose, accompanied by hints of ripe fruit and complex nuances typical of the grape's overripeness. The palate is silky, balanced and elegant , where the sweetness integrates perfectly with the natural freshness of the txakoli, offering a long and very aromatic finish.
Thanks to its balance between freshness and sweetness, it is ideal to accompany foie, blue or goat cheeses, Iberian ham or lightly sweetened desserts , and it is recommended to be served between 6 °C and 8 °C to fully enjoy its aromatic intensity and gastronomic character.
