Baynos Blanco de Viura 2021 is a white wine from the Denomination of Origin Classified (DOCa) Rioja, crafted by Bodegas Mauro using 100% Viura. This wine is made from grapes sourced from small vineyards in Baños de Ebro, in the Rioja Alavesa region. The vines producing this wine are often old and cultivated in clay-limestone soils. The production approach is highly respectful of the vineyard, employing ecological practices that allow for an accurate expression of the terroir’s character. A fundamental part of its production is the fermentation carried out with native yeasts in 228-liter French oak barrels. The wine spends about 20 months in these barrels, allowing it to develop complexity and a broader texture without losing freshness. On the nose, aromas of stone fruits and citrus can be appreciated, accompanied by spicy and floral notes that merge with the nuances imparted by aging. On the palate, Baynos Blanco is structured and balanced, presenting a slightly creamy texture, good acidity, and a long, persistent finish that elegantly and complexly reflects the expression of the Viura variety.
