Remordimiento Tinto 2023 is an organic red wine produced by Bodegas Cerrón , a family winery located in the Jumilla DO in the Murcia region of southeastern Spain. The project is led by the Cerdán siblings and focuses on recovering traditional high-altitude vineyards while working with organic and biodynamic viticulture to express the authentic character of the Mediterranean landscape.
The grapes come from vineyards located in Fuente-Álamo , planted as bush vines and ranging between 25 and 50 years of age. These plots sit at elevations of around 850–900 metres , on sandy limestone soils with gravel , conditions that contribute freshness, elegance and mineral character to the wine.
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected. In the winery, fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts in a combination of clay amphorae, open barrels, concrete tanks and wooden vats , preserving the purity of the fruit and the identity of the vineyard. The wine is then aged in neutral vessels and used oak barrels , gaining complexity and texture while keeping the oak influence subtle.
On the nose it offers aromas of ripe red and black fruits such as cherry, plum and blackberry , accompanied by hints of Mediterranean herbs, spice and subtle balsamic notes. On the palate it is fresh, balanced and elegant , with fine tannins, lively acidity and a refined expression of high-altitude Monastrell.
It pairs well with grilled meats, cured meats, rice dishes, roasted vegetables and Mediterranean cuisine , and can also be served slightly chilled to highlight its aromatic freshness.
