Nose: Rojo cereza muy cubierto con borde granate.
Mark: Bodegas el Nido
Clio 2018 is a red wine of great character made by Bodegas El Nidoat D.O. Jumilla , one of the most unique wine regions in southeastern Spain. This wine is born from a blend of Monastrell from old vines (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) , grown in limestone soils under an extreme Mediterranean climate that favors the concentration and ripening of the grapes. After vinification, the wine is aged for about 24 months in French and American oak barrels , providing complexity and depth.
In the glass it has an intense cherry red color with garnet reflections. The nose is powerful and expressive, with aromas of ripe black fruits such as blackberry and blueberry, accompanied by notes of cocoa, roasted coffee, licorice and spices that add elegance and complexity.
The palate is ample, fleshy and structured , with ripe, silky tannins that envelop the palate and lead to a long, intense and persistent finish. A deep and elegant wine, ideal to accompany red meats, game, traditional stews or cured cheeses , and considered one of the most outstanding references of the D.O. Jumilla.
