Clio 2018 is an exceptional red wine made by Bodegas El Nido, recognized in the D.O. Jumilla, a unique wine region in southeastern Spain. This wine is the result of a particularly balanced blend, comprising 70% old vine Monastrell and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are cultivated in soils with a high concentration of lime under an extreme Mediterranean climate, which promotes the ripening and concentration of the fruit. The vinification process includes aging for about 24 months in French and American oak barrels, which imparts notable complexity and depth of flavor. Visually, Clio presents a deep cherry red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it is a powerful and expressive wine, dominated by aromas of ripe dark fruits like blackberry and blueberry, combined with notes of cocoa, roasted coffee, and licorice that provide elegance. On the palate, Clio unfolds wide and fleshy, with ripe, silky tannins that caress the palate, culminating in a long and intense finish.
