O Gran Meín Castes Brancas 2023 is a white wine from the D.O. Ribeiro , produced by Viña Meín - Emilio Rojo in the historic Avia Valley (Galicia). It is produced from a blend of native varieties such as Treixadura, Godello, Albariño, Torrontés, Loureira, Caíño Blanco and Lado , from small plots worked separately to reflect the character of the region's typical multi-varietal landscape.
After the manual harvest, each variety is vinified separately and the wine remains on its lees for around 12 months before being fully refined in the bottle. This process allows the wine to maintain its freshness and at the same time provide greater complexity and texture, resulting in a white wine that faithfully reflects the origin and winemaking tradition of Ribeiro.
The nose is elegant and expressive, with aromas of citrus, white and stone fruit , accompanied by delicate floral notes and a subtle herbal background. The palate is ample and balanced, with good acidity, creamy texture and a long finish with mineral and saline nuances. A complex and very gastronomic white, ideal to accompany seafood, fish, rice or soft cheeses.
If you want, I can also adjust the style even more to the usual tone of Casa Ortega (a little shorter or more commercial) so that all the cards are even more uniform.
