Figuero Viñas Viejas 2020 is a red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero made by Bodegas García Figuero , a family winery located in La Horra (Burgos) with a long winemaking tradition in the area. The grapes come from old Tinto Fino vineyards , some more than 60 years old, grown on clay-limestone soils characteristic of the appellation.
After manual harvesting and a careful selection of clusters, the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged for about 15 months in French oak barrels , which adds complexity and structure while maintaining the expression of the fruit.
The nose presents aromas of ripe black fruit, plum and blackberry , accompanied by spicy notes, cocoa and light toast. The palate is powerful, balanced and elegant , with well-integrated tannins and a long, lingering finish. A Ribera del Duero of great character ideal to accompany red meats, roast lamb or game dishes.
