Brega is an exceptional red wine made from Garnacha, born from the careful crafting of Jorge Ordóñez at his winery Breca, located in the renowned Denomination of Origin Calatayud in Aragón. This wine, produced from grapes of centenary vineyards planted between 1900 and 1911, is a gem due to its origin, cultivated in the highest area for this variety. The slate and quartz-silurian soils, rich in iron, impart unique characteristics to its flavor. The vinification process is conducted traditionally, starting with spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts in open stainless-steel tanks. Brega is aged for 20 months, with the first 10 in French oak barrels (of which 40% are new) and the next 10 in large neutral 600-liter barrels, giving the wine an elegant and persistent flavor profile.
