La Bota 104 Malt Whisky is a unique release by Equipo Navazos , the well-known Jerez-based project dedicated to discovering and bottling exceptional wines and spirits from singular casks. In this case, the team applies its philosophy to a Spanish single malt whisky selected for its distinctive ageing in a historic Sherry cask.
The whisky is produced from malted barley grown and distilled in Castilla y León , making it a fully Spanish single malt. After distillation, it ages for nearly sixteen years , including about twelve years in a single cask that previously held very old dry oloroso Sherry , which contributes remarkable depth and complexity to the spirit.
As part of the “La Bota” series , this whisky is a single-cask release , meaning the entire bottling comes from one single cask that was emptied exclusively for this edition. This makes the whisky extremely limited and essentially unrepeatable. It is also bottled without chill filtration and without additives , preserving its natural character.
On the nose it reveals complex aromas of nuts, old wood, black tea and subtle saline notes influenced by the Sherry cask. On the palate it is dry, intense and structured , with a firm texture and a long finish showing hints of bitter walnut, spice and toasted notes.
