Lanzaga 2021 is presented as a representative wine of Telmo Rodríguez's project in Rioja Alavesa, renowned for the recovery of historic village wines of Rioja. This wine is made exclusively from grapes from the municipality of Lanciego, aiming to faithfully reflect the area's landscape and winemaking tradition. A blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Graciano from old, bush-trained vineyards is used, grown in varied soils and at altitudes between 450 and 700 meters. Viticulture is primarily organic, with biodynamic principles in some vineyards. Vinification is done with native yeasts in cement tanks, with minimal intervention. It ages for 14 months in foudres and French oak barrels, ensuring a respectful integration of the wood. Aromas of ripe red fruits, herbs, and a mineral background dominate the scent profile, while on the palate it is fresh and balanced, with a spicy and mineral finish. Ideal with lamb and Riojan cuisine, it offers remarkable aging potential.
