Lustau VORS Amontillado is one of the great wines of Jerez produced by Bodegas Lustau , a historical reference of the Marco de Jerez. This exceptional amontillado comes from a careful selection of eight butts belonging to the oldest soleras of the winery , with an average age of over 30 years , which gives it the VORS(Very Old Rare Sherry) rating, reserved only for the oldest and most exclusive wines of the Marco de Jerez. Made from 100% Palomino Fino grapes , it combines an initial biological aging under flor with a long oxidative aging that gives it depth and complexity.
In the glass it has a bright dark amber color. The nose displays intense aromas of noble wood, leather, licorice and dried fruits , accompanied by nuances of caramel and candied orange peel that reflect its long aging. The palate is dry, deep and very complex , with an enveloping texture and marked saline notes characteristic of very old amontillados, culminating in an extraordinarily long and elegant finish.
This generous wine of great character is ideal to enjoy at leisure, served slightly chilled, and goes particularly well with cured cheeses, blue fish, smoked dishes or white meats. A true oenological jewel that reflects the extraordinary potential of the long-aged wines of the Marco de Jerez.
