Algueira Mencía Young 2024 is a wine that embodies the essence of the Adega Algueira winery, located in Ribeira Sacra, Galicia. This young and fresh wine is made from the Mencía variety, grown on the steep slopes of the Sil valley, in an environment of heroic viticulture where manual labor is key. The grapes, planted in slate and schist soils, are destemmed and undergo a cold maceration before fermentation in stainless steel tanks, preserving their pure aromas. On the nose, it features notes of raspberry, cherry, blackberry, and a mineral hint of graphite. On the palate, it is balanced, fresh, and juicy, with bright acidity and a persistent finish. Its enveloping texture makes it ideal to pair with cold cuts, white meats, rice, pasta, fatty fish, and semi-cured cheeses. To enjoy it at its best, it is recommended to serve it between 15 and 17 ºC.
