Val do Salnés (Spain)

Pairing: Mariscos, pescados blancos y azules, arroces marineros, pulpo, vieiras, cocina asiática y quesos de pasta blanda.

Net weight:

Albariño from Narupa Vinos, made with vineyards from Ribadumia, Barro, and Sanxenxo, in the Val do Salnés. A mature and complex white wine, with stone fruit, white flowers, a creamy texture, and salty freshness. The 2021 vintage received 94 points from Luis Gutiérrez in The Wine Advocate.
Narupa Alalá 2021 is an Albariño from Narupa Vinos, a project started in 2013 to express the identity of the variety and the terroirs of Val do Salnés. It mainly combines vineyards from Ribadumia and Barro, with clay and silt soils, and a smaller proportion from Sanxenxo, which is closer to the ocean and sandier. The harvest was manual, between September 18 and 20, 2021. After selection, many of the clusters were crushed and cold macerated before pressing. It ferments spontaneously with native yeasts and remains in deposit and bottle for a long time, seeking complexity without losing freshness. Luis Gutiérrez awarded this vintage 94 points in The Wine Advocate, highlighting white flowers, apricot, and herbal notes. On the palate, it offers ripeness, enveloping creamy texture, vibrant acidity, and a long finish with a salty touch. It is recommended not to serve it too cold to appreciate its complexity. It pairs well with seafood, white and blue fish, seafood rice dishes, octopus, scallops, Asian cuisine, and soft cheese.
