Pago de los Capellanes Reserva 2022 is a red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero produced by the Pago de los Capellanes winery, located in Pedrosa de Duero, one of the historic municipalities of the appellation. It comes from a selection of old Tempranillo vineyards , grown in clay-limestone and stony soils that give structure and complexity to the wine.
After the manual harvest, the wine undergoes a cold pre-fermentation maceration and ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, it completes its evolution with an aging period of approximately 18 months in French oak barrels , followed by a period of refinement in the bottle that provides greater balance and depth.
The nose shows intense aromas of ripe black fruit, plum and blackberry , accompanied by spicy notes, cocoa and toasted nuances from the aging. The palate is powerful, elegant and structured , with ripe tannins and a long, lingering finish. A Ribera del Duero of great character, ideal to accompany roast lamb, red meats or traditional stews.
