La Propiedad 2021 is a red wine produced by Palacios Remondo , a historic estate located in Alfaro in the Rioja Oriental area of Spain. The Palacios family revitalised this vineyard project with the aim of highlighting the character of Riojan Garnacha through a modern, terroir-focused approach.
The wine comes from several plots of old Garnacha vines located on the slopes of Monte Yerga , an elevated area within Rioja Oriental known for producing wines with freshness and aromatic intensity. The vineyards grow on stony soils with clay and gravel , conditions that naturally limit yields and enhance concentration in the grapes.
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts, after which the wine is aged for around 12 months in large oak vats and French oak barrels , allowing the wine to develop complexity while preserving the purity of the Garnacha grape.
On the nose it shows aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry, raspberry and pomegranate , accompanied by hints of Mediterranean herbs, spice and subtle mineral notes. On the palate it is juicy, elegant and well balanced , with silky tannins, fresh acidity and a long finish dominated by red fruit and delicate spice.
It pairs beautifully with grilled meats, lamb, roasted poultry, meat-based rice dishes and Mediterranean cuisine , where its freshness and structure enhance the flavours of the food.
