Suzzane Rioja 2023 is a red wine that stands out for its authenticity, being a tribute to the rich winemaking tradition of the DOCa Rioja. Produced by Oxer Wines, the project of the renowned Basque winemaker Oxer Bastegieta, this wine is 100% Garnacha from very old vineyards located in Cárdenas, in the Rioja Alta. These vineyards, some dating back to the early 20th century, grow on clay-iron soils that give the wine exceptional concentration and character. The harvest is done manually, ensuring the quality of the grapes, and fermentation takes place with native yeasts, preserving the true identity of the vineyard. Subsequently, the wine undergoes aging for approximately 12 to 15 months in French oak barrels. This process adds complexity and balance to the wine without masking the fruity expression of the Garnacha grape. On the nose, Suzzane Rioja 2023 reveals itself as elegant and expressive, with predominant notes of red and black fruits like cherry and blackberry, as well as delicate floral notes of violet.
