Tobelos Reserva 2018 is sourced from vineyards in the Rioja Alta area, located on terraces and small plots, in poor soils, in the municipalities of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, cradle of the best Tempranillo, and Rivas de Tereso. The vines are bush vines with an average age of 30 years, grown at an altitude of 550 m above sea level. The grapes were harvested by hand and underwent alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in truncated cone-shaped concrete tanks. Finally, it was aged for 15 months in 70% French and 30% American oak barrels.
Tobelos Bodegas y Viñedos is the project that Ricardo Reinoso undertook in the late nineties. Although in its beginnings the winery was baptized as La Encina, it would later adopt its current name. The facilities are located in Briñas, a municipality very close to Haro, next to the Ebro River and at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria and the Obarenes Mountains. A privileged location that serves to create interesting wines that combine tradition and modernity. Tobelos Reserva 2018 (D.O.Ca. Rioja) harmonizes perfectly with gelatinous dishes such as lamb trotters with mushrooms.
