VINEYARD The plot "Miguel Rey" comprises 3 hectares located in Valtuille de Arriba, at an altitude of 650 meters. With yields between 4,000 and 5,000 kg, it is grown in trellis on acidic and loose soils, with a loamy-clay-sandy texture and alluvial formation. The area benefits from the Bierzo microclimate, transitioning between the Mediterranean and Atlantic domains, milder and more benign in this region surrounded by mountains. VINTAGE The winter and spring were cool and humid, with generous rainfall. Bud break occurred smoothly at the end of March. During flowering, rains in early June caused flower shedding, which reduced berry set. The summer, mild and rainy, maintained good water availability in the vineyards during the final stages of ripening until harvest, which took place in mid-September. Harvest with Atlantic influence, moderate alcohol levels, magnificent aromatic extraction, and soft tannins. Aging and bottling: After 12 months in new and used 500-liter French oak barrels, the wine was bottled in December 2022. Production: 11,866 bottles and 260 magnums.
