The Jorco 2021 is a Garnacha from the D.O.P. Cebreros. Viñedos del Jorco was established in 2009 through the collaboration of Raúl Pérez, César Ruiz, Flequi Berruti, and Nacho Jiménez. Its identity was consolidated in a vineyard planted in 1915, definitively acquired by the partners in 2015. The estate occupies approximately 2.5 hectares in the Jorco area, on weathered granite with north and east orientations. The old vines and the search for a contained ripening define its style. The 2021 harvest, slightly warmer than 2020, reached 15% vol., although Luis Gutiérrez noted a lesser sensation of alcohol and maturity than the numbers suggest. The maceration was reduced to 42 days, and aging was completed over 14 months in 500-liter barrels. Of relatively light color, it offers ripe red fruit and floral, spicy, herbaceous, and mineral notes. On the palate, it combines texture, precision, and concentration, with present but fine tannins, freshness, and a savory and persistent finish. It received 94 points from Wine Advocate, with a recommended drinking window of 2024–2029. Due to its structure, it can continue to evolve in the bottle.
