Vivaltus 2018 is an ambitious project from Ribera del Duero, the result of a collaboration between the Yllera family and the legendary winemaker Jean-Claude Berrouet, famous for his work at Château Pétrus. The 2018 vintage marked a milestone for the winery, thanks to a cool summer and slow maturation that resulted in grapes of exceptional balance and refined aromatic expression. The grapes, sourced from old vineyards in prestigious locations of Ribera del Duero, undergo rigorous manual and optical selection, and are vinified separately before blending. The wine offers complex aromas of black cherry, blackberry, violets, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is silky and fresh, with polished tannins and magnificent acidity, reminiscent of great Atlantic reds. Vivaltus 2018 has notable aging potential, with the ability to evolve over two decades.
