The Croft Original Fortified Wine is made from 100% Palomino Fino grapes and has a D.O. Jerez.
The harvest, which takes place in the "Marco de Jerez", is of utmost importance for the production of the Croft Original Fortified Wine. The grapes are hand-picked to ensure they arrive at the winery in optimal condition. Upon arrival, the grapes are carefully pressed without crushing the stems, seeds, and skin.
The must obtained from this first pressing is known as "yema must" and is the most delicate and elegant.
The Croft Original Fortified Wine is bottled in a bottle that is very different from those that typically contain sherries. The label is written in English as a tribute to the great affection of the English for these wines.
Bodegas González Byass was founded in 1835. Currently, they have 1,844 hectares of vineyards spread throughout Spain, and their wine production satisfies national and international palates.
Bodegas González Byass is probably the most well-known Spanish winery group worldwide thanks to its sherries. This winery rescues the sherries from within its cellars, "infinite in age, but finite in life".
