The Red Wine El Pillo Viñas Rebeldes is a unique creation from the Bodega Pagos del Rey, framed under the Denomination of Origin Toro. This wine, made with 100% Tinta de Toro, pays homage to the stories and legends that have enriched the winemaking tradition of the region. Its name, 'El Pillo,' evokes the image of a daring young man who, on a moonless night, wished to honor the farmers with a luminous spectacle that illuminated the vineyards. This selective hand-harvest production ensures that only the grapes from the most singular vineyards are used, guaranteeing the quality of the final product. The malolactic fermentation, conducted in oak barrels, gives the wine an intensity and subtle structure that enhances the nobility of the Tinta de Toro. Recognized in various international competitions, El Pillo has won the Grand Gold Medal at CINVE 2024 for the 2019 vintage and received 90 points in the Peñín Guide 2025 for the 2021 vintage. It has also been awarded gold medals at the Frankfurt International Trophy 2024, MUNDUS VINI 2024, and Berliner Wine Trophy 2024.
