Lo Petit PAU 2023 is a red wine from Celler Hidalgo Albert, made in the D.O.Q. Priorat, Spain, with Garnacha Negra, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It comes in a 75 cl bottle and has 14.5 % vol. alcohol. The grapes are harvested by hand, with bunches selected in small 15 kg boxes for the harvest. In the winery, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed before fermenting in stainless steel vats. It is a wine without oak ageing. Before bottling, it undergoes a gentle filtration and the sulfite content is stabilised. In the glass it shows an intense ruby red with violet hues. On the nose, cherries, strawberries and blackberries stand out, along with notes of black pepper and aromatic herbs. On the palate it is fresh and vibrant, with balanced acidity, smooth rounded tannins and a spicy aftertaste. The finish is long and silky. Suggested pairings include grilled meats, game dishes and semi-cured cheeses. The blend of varieties provides a fruity profile, structure and freshness, with the character of Priorat.
