The Perica Viña Olagosa Crianza Red Wine is one of the great expressions of Bodegas Perica, made in the heart of Rioja Alta with a careful selection of grapes from different plots that reflect the richness and diversity of the Rioja terroir. The vineyards are located in Finca La Olagosa, Valdeviñas, Ladera de Don Ventura, San Asensio, Casalarreina, Briones, and Cenicero, privileged areas for their climate and soils, which provide balance, structure, and elegance to this wine.
Made with a traditional combination of varieties — Tempranillo (90%), Garnacha (5%), and Mazuelo (5%) —, this wine is a faithful representative of the classic Rioja style, interpreted with a contemporary touch that enhances its character and authenticity. Each variety brings its personality: Tempranillo provides body and structure, Garnacha adds fruity notes and freshness, and Mazuelo gives longevity and balanced acidity.
The winemaking process begins with a harvest at its optimal ripeness, selecting only the highest quality clusters. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, ensuring precise extraction of color, aroma, and flavor. Subsequently, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak vats, where it acquires smoothness and aromatic complexity.
Its aging takes place for 16 to 18 months in Bordeaux barrels of American oak and Eastern oak, a combination that provides balance between spicy notes, vanilla nuances, and toasted touches. Finally, the wine rests at least 6 months in the bottle before hitting the market, refining its texture and rounding out its bouquet.
The result is an elegant, structured red wine with a very distinct personality. On the nose, it displays intense aromas of ripe fruit, balsamic notes, vanilla, and light toasted hints. On the palate, it is balanced, round, and persistent, with fine tannins and a long and harmonious finish.
The Perica Viña Olagosa Crianza is a safe bet for those who enjoy wines with character, tradition, and a perfect balance between fruit and wood.
If you want to buy wine with a Riojan soul and excellent value for money, this Viña Olagosa Crianza Red Wine is an ideal option.
