Valtravieso Bodegas y Viñedos presents the Valtravieso Crianza Red Wine, an exceptional wine from the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin. This wine is mainly made from Tinto Fino grapes, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot depending on the vintage, achieving an elegant and deep expression. At an altitude of 915 meters in the Páramo de Piñel de Arriba, this winery reflects the effort and dedication of a team committed to quality. The Valtravieso Crianza surprises with its notes of ripe fruit and spices, accompanied by a pronounced natural acidity that provides a fresh and silky mouthfeel. With a long finish and aromatic tannins, it leaves a lasting impression on the palate. The aging process includes at least 12 months in oak barrels, composed of 90% French oak and 10% American oak. After barrel aging, the wine is refined in the bottle, totaling 2 years before being marketed. Especially noteworthy is the 2020 vintage, which was awarded 92 points by Tim Atkin and 91 points in the Guía Peñín 2024, confirming its status as an outstanding wine. The vineyards, with an average age of 25 years, are planted on limestone soils with clay veins that add complexity and character. Winemaker Ricardo Velasco Pla supervises a traditional winemaking process, using indigenous yeasts and adapting fermentations to the terroirs of each area.
