The Red Wine Vile La Finca Prieto Picudo is an excellent representation of the D.O. León. It is produced in the unique vineyards of Prieto Picudo grapes, located at 830 meters above sea level in Valdevimbre, a region with unique characteristics for this variety. The sandy-loamy soils and altitude contribute to the quality of the grapes, providing optimal ripening and a balanced development of the vine. The harvest is done manually, using 15 kg boxes to ensure the grapes arrive in perfect condition at the winery. Once in the winery, grapes are destemmed and gently crushed in small tanks, where alcoholic fermentation begins. Afterwards, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation and aging for 16 months occur. This results in a friendly, expressive, and refined wine, with notes of black fruits, sweet spices, and licorice on the nose. On tasting, it shows an intense ruby red color and a profile that reflects the typicity of the Prieto Picudo variety. Ideal to accompany meat dishes, this wine showcases the viticultural richness of the León area.
