The Finca Valdelascarretas White Wine is a unique expression of the 100% Viura variety, made with the utmost respect for the land and winemaking traditions of Rioja. This wine is born from a meticulous artisanal process that combines manual selection, technical precision, and long aging that gives it an elegant, complex, and long-lasting personality.
The harvest was done manually, selecting the best clusters of Viura grapes at their optimal ripeness in the vineyard itself. The grapes were carefully placed in 15-kilo boxes, ensuring they arrived intact at the winery. Once there, they underwent a pre-fermentative cold maceration process, a technique that allows for maximum extraction of varietal aromas, providing freshness, intensity, and aromatic depth.
After this step, the grapes were gently pressed and the obtained must was clarified after 24 hours to preserve its purity and natural brightness. The fermentation took place in French oak barrels, where the wine began to acquire structure and complexity. Subsequently, it remained with its lees for six months, undergoing periodic batonnage that enriched its texture and roundness, providing volume in the mouth and creamy notes that balance its natural freshness.
After this stage, the wine was kept aging for 15 months in French oak barrels, where it reached its aromatic maturity and its characteristic balance between fruit and wood. Finally, it was bottled in August 2022, after a refining process that gave it a unique elegance and exceptional aromatic profile.
The result is a white wine of great finesse and complexity, with notes of ripe white fruit, dried flowers, vanilla, and light toasted oak nuances. It presents itself silky, enveloping, and with perfectly integrated acidity, prolonging its persistence and giving it a great aging potential.
