Rice has been grown in Calasparra since the 18th century. The situation, the mountainous environment and the quality of the water of the crops (waters of headwaters of the Segura and the World that come from mountainous zones) influence in the high quality of the rice. Brown rice preserves the edible husks and the rice germ, providing fiber, amino acids and nutrients to the diet.
