From the Estate comes one of our most historic vineyards, planted in bush vines in 1964: the Vinya dels Fòssils.
The plants of the Vinya dels Fòssils come from the massal selection carried out by Manuel Raventós Domènech in 1888. Creator of the formula for sparkling wine from Penedés by combining the three native varieties, Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Parellada, Manuel Raventós also experimented with planting small separate plots: from the vines that produced the best grapes, he selected the cuttings for new plantations.
