Tasting Note
An extraordinarily complex, balanced, and elegant wine.
On the nose, it is opulent, complex, and intense, with black fruits predominating, well blended with notes of new wood, spicy, and balsamic. On the palate, it is powerful, meaty, and very persistent, yet balanced and very polished, with silky tannins and a long finish.
Vintage Characteristics
A total of 517 liters/m2 were collected between October 1, 2018, and September 30, 2019. Although rainfall was mainly concentrated in October 2018 and April 2019, the rains that occurred at the end of August and beginning of September (69 liters/m2) were particularly significant for the quality of the harvest.
Temperatures in the summer were warm, in line with the season, with few heat waves in July and August. The presence of intermittent rains throughout September resulted in milder temperatures than in other years, and the grapes showed higher levels of acidity at maturity than in previous years, with better and more balanced phenolic ripeness.
