Algueira Carravel 2017

Algueira Carravel is a red wine from the Ribeira Sacra Denomination of Origin made from 100% Mencia grapes.

They obtain their grapes from the best vineyards in Doade, ferment each grape individually and harvest them after ripening. It can be said that this is a wine of an unusual vintage from their plots. In this case, the 100% Mencía is made in steel or barrel, with or without stemming, depending on the origin. It has been aged for more than 12 months in barrels of various volumes.

Tasting Note of Algueira Carravel

It has a garnet colour with an intermediate layer, balsamic aromas and red fruits (wild strawberries).In the mouth it is round and well balanced with tannins/alcohol/acids. The minerality of the region gives us a very persistent palate.
