Alonso del Yerro is grown in a great diversity of soils located at an altitude of over 800m, all very calcareous, from the typical red clay of Ribera to sandy soils with gravel; hence the typicity and complexity of Alonso del Yerro.
A slow and gentle elaboration to extract the best tannins offered by the 2012 grapes. Long macerations (between 25 and 29 days), aging of about 12 months in French oak (with 25% new wood) shape a very balanced, classic and elegant Alonso del Yerro 2012.

From October 22nd to 29th. It was a late but homogeneous harvest. We picked the grapes under ideal conditions, without haste, following our parcel philosophy, achieving the desired ripeness, without any meteorological or health factors intervening.
Alonso del Yerro is ideal to accompany pasta with meat sauce, sheep's cheese, meat rice dishes, and roasted red meats.
It is recommended to serve at a temperature between 16 and 18ºC.
