L-Carnitine is an amino acid present in the body where it has important functions related to Weight Control. Its main activity consists of transporting fatty acids, components of fats, to the interior of the cells so that they can be used there to obtain energy. Therefore, a deficiency of L-Carnitine leads to the accumulation of fats and the impossibility of the organism to obtain part of the energy. L-Carnitine is also involved in the thermogenesis of brown fat, through which it is possible to release energy in the form of heat.
