Origin and production
Coming from the D.O. Conca de Barberà, in Catalonia, Carles Andreu Trepat Barrica is a red wine made 100% with the native variety Trepat, a delicate and fresh grape. The Carles Andreu winery works with a artisanal approach, cultivating vineyards located between 400 and 600 meters of altitude, which favors a slow and balanced ripening. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged for six months in second-use French oak barrels, which gives it complexity without taking away its varietal expression.
Tasting notes
Appearance: Pale cherry red color with violet hues, bright and clean.
Nose: Intense aromas of fresh red fruits (raspberry, strawberry), subtle spicy notes (white pepper, cinnamon) and delicate balsamic and floral touches.
Palate: Smooth and fresh entry, fine and polished tannins, good acidity and a balanced finish with integrated fruity and barrel notes.
Recommended pairing
Perfect to pair with Mediterranean cuisine dishes, such as rice dishes, white meats, mild sausages, sautéed mushrooms, and recipes with light spices. Also ideal to pair with Japanese or Thai cuisine for its freshness and subtlety.
Carles Andreu Trepat Barrica is a fresh and gastronomic wine, which faithfully reflects the personality of the Trepat variety and the character of Conca de Barberà. An elegant, versatile, and balanced red wine, perfect for those looking for wines with identity and ease of enjoyment.
