Honduras is considered a paradise, with its islands bathed by the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean and white sand beaches. But, away from this movie or TV show landscape like Survivor, there is a country full of opportunities. It seems strange that, being one of the poorest corners of Latin America, they care about sustainability and fair production. But yes, the population is largely dedicated to agricultural activities, as well as trade, manufacturing, and finance. Bernard Ornilla, a Bilbaíno who moved there several years ago in search of organizations that favored fair consumption and supported producers in that same line, knows this very well. He liked his work as a consultant and the project so much that he acquired his own coffee and honey finca.
Bernard has been an organic coffee producer since 2012 and has focused on quality instead of quantity with varieties such as Catuai or Bourbon. The height of the finca and its proximity to the Celaque National Park allow for unique flavors. Bernard processes the coffee washed, honey and natural. His coffee is exported as a microlot to small roasters in Belgium, Spain, France, and the USA.
