Eguren Ugarte Maceración Carbónica is a red wine from the D.O. Rioja produced by Bodegas Ugarte, one of the wineries belonging to the Eguren family.

Most of the grapes are harvested in Labastida, Rioja Alavesa.

The scorching summer heat lasted until mid-September, so we were able to have an autumn harvest, like in the past, typical of Rioja: large temperature differences between day and night, even very cold, with northern winds. We reached grape harvest at 6 degrees. This cold has resulted in one of the best ripenings in recent years, with grapes that have intense color, well-balanced alcohol, acidity, and surprisingly soft tannins. A year to macerate the wines for a long time without extracting astringency or greenness.

Winemaking: The bunches are placed whole in the tanks. Thanks to natural fermentation, the aromas and color from the skin are extracted from inside the berry. The pressing of the bunches completes the alcoholic fermentation of the wine.
