Júlia Bernet Brut Nature 60x40 is a Corpinnat sparkling wine produced at the Júlia Bernet winery, located in Catalonia, and made from chardonnay and xarel-lo.
Júlia Bernet's personal project was initiated by Xavier Bernet in 2001, when he decided to stop selling grapes from the family vineyards in Subirats (Barcelona) to create his own wines and sparkling wines. This decision has resulted in limited productions of high quality with a marked indigenous character. Since 2018, Júlia Bernet has been part of the European Union's Collective Mark Corpinnat, a seal that guarantees the quality of organic sparkling wines.
Júlia Bernet 60×40 Brut Nature comes from family vineyards located on the steep slopes of the Ordal mountain. These difficult-to-access slopes offer unique geological and climatic conditions, which are ideal for growing xarel-lo grapes. Farming is completely organic, and the grapes are harvested by hand.
This sparkling wine, as its name suggests, is the result of combining two separately vinified varieties: chardonnay and xarel-lo. The fermentation of the base wine is carried out with indigenous yeasts, and the second fermentation follows the traditional method, with a minimum of 36 months of aging. No sulfur or liquor is added during this process.
